Well, I made through Banff & Jasper Parks. According to Garmin I’m < 24 hours of nominal riding away from Skagway. Funny thing about the difference between Garmin & Google Maps (GM) - Garmin considers the entrance fee into a national park as a toll, whereas GM does not - hence the wild routes through Idaho & Montana. I’m sad I didn’t realize it earlier, the only way I figured it out was by going into Banff and having the lady at the booth say “it’s a toll road” … I was dumbstruck.

About the picture, it’s a place in Jasper Park that’s called “Waterfowl Lake.” Funny I only saw one duck. But the glacial waters are so blue, Andy Dufresne can keep his Pacific.
