World Street Kitchen - December 7, 2015

One of the drawbacks of always chasing the next great thing, even if you find it, is that sometimes you end up missing some old favorites. That’s what led me to World Street Kitchen with Kat this night.

World Street Kitchen is my favorite food truck. There are a few others I’m really fond of too, but WSK takes the crown. A lot of people talk about what they’d want for their last meal if they were given one, I’m pretty sure mine would be WSK’s Korean BBQ Beef Yum Yum Bowl with double meat. It hits every flavor profile and has amazing textures. I recommend it. Highly.

Frequented favorite spots usually mean you settle into that one dish. Revival is the Tennessee Hot, Spoon & Stable brunch is the Crepe Cake, Saint Dinette is the burger, and so on, for WSK and me it’s the Yum Yum Bowl. That’s what I was getting all ready to order, but Kat mentioned the MFC Biscuit Sandwich. Kat’s usually not a fan of chicken sandwiches, so that got my attention; I wanted to see what kind of chicken sandwich would sway her.

The letters “MF” in any context conjure a certain salacious phrase thanks to a song that was on a certain symbolic artist’s album that I listened to on repeat for quite a bit when I was 16. While I’m almost positive some of the chefs/cooks refer to it as that phrase, the menu lists it as “Moroccan Fried Chicken,” I guess that works.

MFC Biscuit Sandwich with Moroccan fried chicken, carrot & preserved lemon salad, & spicy feta spread: I’m glad I took Kat’s suggestion. This is a good sandwich.

I’ll still probably be drawn to the Yum Yum Bowl more often than not, but now I think I’ll probably switch it up every so often. You never know when taking a chance will yield a new and rewarding experience.
